I.E: We’re walking in a dark room and suddenly, we step on a hot surface, BOOM! the receptors on your feet send the information to your brain and in a matter of milliseconds it sends a mechanical response that makes us step back to avoid getting burned(safety response).
Now we understand that the same thing happens when it comes to PERFORMANCE, as you know now, our brain’s priority is SURVIVAL and it can only happen if we are SAFE!
Your weakened, tortured, and isolated feet send inaccurate information to your brain, which causes an according response, that leads to… you guessed postural imbalances and compensations, which, of course, keep you safe but it limits your performance with pain or limited strength.
Let’s say you are trying to run, jump, lift weights, or do any exercise you love but your feet are misaligned which causes your knees pelvis, and spine to get into a faulty posture. Would it be logical for your brain to unleash all your strength, speed, or power and still stay safe? I don’t think so…
